Carl Te Hira Lewis Mika is a Māori philosopher, researcher, and professor at the University of Canterbury, where he serves as Head of the Aotahi School of Māori and Indigenous Studies. Of Tūhourangi and Ngāti Whanaunga descent, his work focuses on Māori and Indigenous philosophies, particularly ideas of interconnectedness, metaphysics, colonisation, and mātauranga Māori. Mika is internationally recognised for his contributions to Indigenous thought and has written extensively on Māori concepts of being, language, mystery, and relationality.
