Sara Olsvig, PhD, is Chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Council (2022–2026) and an Inuk leader in Indigenous and human rights advocacy. She has served in the parliaments of Denmark and Greenland, and as Greenland’s Vice Premier and Minister for Social Affairs, Families, Gender Equality, and Justice (2016–2018). Her work includes roles with Arctic parliamentary bodies, Greenland’s Constitutional Commission, and the Greenland Human Rights Council. In 2024, she served on the UN Secretary-General’s Panel on Critical Energy Transition Minerals and received the 2023 Womenomics Inclusion Award. Olsvig holds an MSc in Anthropology and a PhD in Arctic studies, and lives in Nuuk with her family.
