Tomás Ibarra is an Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a Principal Investigator at the Cape Horn International Center for Global Change Studies and Biocultural Conservation (CHIC). He also collaborates with other research centers focused on ecology, local development, and interculturality. He lives in southern Chile, where he combines research, teaching, and socio-ecological action. For over 15 years, he has led transdisciplinary work that integrates natural sciences, social sciences, the humanities, and local knowledge to strengthen the resilience of complex territories, particularly in forests, mountains, and small-scale agroecological systems.
